Resumen

Las intervenciones nutricionales tienen como finalidad el mejorar la salud y el bienestar de los individuos; sin embargo, ante el latente aumento de las enfermedades crónico-degenerativas y la poca eficacia de estas intervenciones, es indispensable reflexionar sobre los elementos que se están tomando en cuenta. La integración del contexto implica considerar una amplia gama de factores que influyen en las prácticas alimentarias y las elecciones dietéticas de las personas, este enfoque multidimensional busca entender y abordar las circunstancias individuales y comunitarias que afectan la nutrición y la salud. En el presente artículo se abordan aproximaciones sobre la integración del contexto en las intervenciones nutricionales con la finalidad de proporcionar una perspectiva que permita comprender y reconocer la influencia de factores biológicos, psicológicos, sociales, culturales, económicos y ambientales en la alimentación y con ello obtener herramientas que propicien mejorar los diseños de las intervenciones nutricionales en las que se consideren no sólo las necesidades nutricionales, sino también las circunstancias individuales y comunitarias de las personas.
